Worship Banner Ministry
Our Music Ministry has built over 30 custom-made "one-of-a-kind" banners to enhance our worship. These banners are not ordered from a catalog or designed from a kit or template. They are original expressions of worship, born from within our study of God's Word. Each banner is unique in appearance and is based upon names, titles, and attributes of the Lord. The colors selected for each banner symbolize and add to its meaning. Each banner is 2-sided, with the back side containing the theme scripture verse and scripture reference. The banner ministry is made up of some 50 people that have helped with the design, the construction, or the upkeep of the banners. We have a trained group of "banner bearers" that process the banners and post the banners in their places. The banners are often used individually to correlate with the various themes of worship. At special times, all the banners are used as a magnificent processional of praise, used in conjunction with our Easter, Patriotic and Christmas presentations. Psalm 66 admonishes us to "make His praise glorious" and our banners do just that. The Music Ministry builds 2 or 3 new banners each year. We are always looking for new helpers for our banner ministry.
We also have large custom-made "Biblical Crowns" that depict the 5 special crowns that are promised as rewards for His people assembled in Heaven. We don't really know what they will actually look like, but these beautiful crowns are our best imagination as to what they might look like. Our Crown Bearers also have custom-made costumes, each bearing its own unique name. These crowns are used to enhance the Heaven Scene in the Easter Pageant and of course, to help us visualize the rewards awaiting us around God's Throne.
